I am currently using Peachtree for Windows V5.0 on a HP Pavilion computer with Windows 98 OS. The mother board on the Pavilion is now going bad, so I was force to purchased a newer computer (HP Compaq Presario) which of course came loaded with Vista Home OS. I know that Peachtree for Windows 5.0 will not work with Vista, so I was planning on purchasing Windows XP Pro and installing it on this new computer. This is the oldest Windows operating system that I can use with this new computer because of the lack of device drivers for the new mother board. Will Peachtree for Windows 5.0 work under Windows XP? If not than I will return this new computer and get another older style. If I return this new computer, what is the newest Windows OS that Peachtree for Windows 5.0 will work under, (Windows 2000, NT, ect.) so I will know what type of computer to look for? I am very pleased with the Peachtree accounting software that I am using and do not want to upgrade it and then have to rework all my custom print forms. Also I like the option of updating my payroll tax files myself.
