Can anyone help me automate the following scenario.
I need to record revenue but with a discount. So say I have a client sign a 1 year contract for $12,000 with the first 6 months free.
I would need to record revenue in the following way:
Month 1-6
A/R 1,000
Sales 1,000
and Month 7-12 will look like:
Cash 2,000
A/R 1,000
Sales 1,000
Is there a way to automate this instead of manually recording it for each client?
P.S. this is the same principal applies for a setup fee a client pays you for setup, that needs to be amortized over the life of the contract
