I'm using PT 2009 and want the inventory short item description to appear on sales order and invoice forms. I can get the item description to appear if I leave the sales description blank. But I would like to use the sales description for in house use only.
I would like to change the default description on the sales order and invoice description field to the inventory item description.
How do I do this?

Try customizing the Layout. Choose to add a column, and pick the "Item Description and ID Fields" category. If the field you want CAN be added to a form, it will be in that list. Once it's in there, move it up next to Description Line 1, make the width match, and Remove the Description Line 1 column.
