You might want to run Data Verify & Repair (backing up before and between the two activities) in QB, then try again. You may have corrupted data. If that doesn't work, you should be able to have the guys at PeachTree convert your data for free if you got PT within the last 30 days. Give them a call.
Note that, even when it works (which it usually does), such a conversion is going to take some time to complete.
