PT 2000 6.0 to later PT editions?

Postby nick2000soft on Tue Nov 06, 2007 7:35 pm

I understand that PT 2000 6.0 is a different product than PT 2002 and subsequent releases. We have a PT DOS data converter that our PT 2006 Accountant's edition can pick up converted files from fine but for some reason doesn't seem to be able to see the company file in the PT 2000 data we have.

Is there a way or is PT 2006 supposed to be able to see this PT 2000 6.0 data and bring it to the 2006 format?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

PT 2000 v6 is a separate program, from a different company, from the "Peachtree 2000" actually made by the Peachtree/Sage company. That being said, we can handle conversions from it into later versions of Peachtree. Please keep in mind that such a conversion, like the DOS-to-Windows ones, would be lists only. That is, CoA, cust/vend/item lists, etc, with current outstanding balances, but no transaction detail (just lump sums) nor payroll data at all aside from the list of employee names. We have data entry services available as well if you wish to bring detail over, too, but that will extend the time/costs required.

Please note that, should you wish to stay with PT2000 in the end (it's considered one of the best PT versions, and it's more stable than many of the more recent ones), we do tech support for it and every PT version going back to DOS 7.0

If you're interested, please call us for a quote and we'll be glad to help you out. :D

Thanks very much for responding.

In truth, we're trying to convert to PT 2006 as an intermediate step to conversion to MAS 90. This is bad news because we now cannot use the Sage data migrator tool to bring in all the great detail data that the migrator can do.

I'm sure we can export to some sort of .csv or something and do the list data but the open receivables is a real concern as they have a huge open AR.

I may have our lead on this project give you a call to discuss whether we would like to get some assistance with the project.

I would consider contacting Sage, then. It is possible that they have figured out a way to get detail out of PT2000. If they can get it out of QuickBooks (and QB can do it to PT), maybe they've figured out how to get it out of there. If not, give us a ring :)
