Allday Consulting's Peachtree and QuickBooks Support Boards

I was entering in some bills, and my computer turned off. My power cord just stopped working. Replaced it, and I'm now trying to open my QB and I can't. I'm getting a box that says QuickBooks Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Mircrosoft about thie problem. We have created an error report that you can send blah blah blah. The date for the error report is AppName: qblaunch.exe AppVer: 17.0.4010.564 ModName: kernel32.dll

I don't know what to do. I don't know if it matters but I'm working off of a back up. (had sent it to our accountant and he made some changes)

Put simply, it crashed. If it will not open, try these things:

- First, reboot the system.

- Double-clik on a sample file to see if it's the data that's messed up, or the program itself. If it opens the sample data, then your data is messed up, so try a Rebuild on it from within the program. If not...

- Go to Add/Remove Programs, select QuickBooks, click change/remove, and choose to Repair. Try to open QB

- Go to the program folder where QB is stored and run "reboot.bat". Try to open QB

- Uninstall QB, reboot, then re-install it *to a different folder*

If none of this works, call for tech support.
