Hosting means that your computer is telling a ll of the other computers where the file is and is controlling their access to it. This is generally a bad thing. Here's how to fix it:
If the Server has a full QB install, turn Hosting ON there.
On ALL other computers that have QB installed, turn Hosting OFF, then shut them down.
Reboot the server, then make sure it has Hosting ON. Run the QB Database Server Manager to make sure it's pointed to your data directory, then minimize it.
Turn the other computers back on and you should be good to go.
