- Make sure you have updated Qbooks to the most recent release.
- Make sure file extensions are turned on
- When installing (or running Repair at this point), MAKE SURE that your antivirus software is turned OFF and that your firewall is turned ON, and that the latter is set to a mode where it will bug you about every little thing qbooks does, so you can allow its processes through.
If QBW files (qb company files) do not have an icon, qb did not install properly, as the QBW file type did not get registered properly within Windows
Make sure that your backups (QBB files) are where you think they are. Try copying the one you need to the Desktop and pointing qb there to Restore it.
