Hi, I am new to the forums here but am hoping I can get some help. I have a laptop which is my server that is running both Quickbooks Financial 2009 and Quickbooks POS version 5.0. I recently had to reformat my desktop (workstation) and reinstall both quickbook programs. I have set both computer up on a small network and am able to see a sell made from server on the desktop in point of sale. At the end of the day when I do a financial exchange on the laptop (server) it updates the quickbooks. When I try to do it in quickbooks on the desktop it does not give me the option (financial exchange is not highlighted). Also when I open POS every time I get this message. Problem The version/release of Quickbooks POS you are running on this workstation is older than the version/release installed on the Server workstation. Solution You should update this workstation to run the same version/release as the Server workstation to ensure feature compatibility. Click "Update" below to check for and install available updates or select 'continue' to launch quickbooks POS using your current version/release. I have tried to do an update and it says both POS files are updated. When I try and select the setup interview on the desktop I have no options other than the hardware. I hope someone can help and this isn't too confusing. I think I may just lose my mind.
