Matching transactions in Online Banking

Postby acctmike on Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:28 pm

We download transactions from our bank and them import them into QuickBooks, which works for the most part. The only problem is when we receive multiple payments for invoices and deposit them in the same bank deposit. If I record three payments against invoices on a given day, QB shows three entries to cash. Our bank, however, shows one deposit. When I download the transactions, I am unable to match the three payments to the single deposit. Any pointers? I've tried logging the payments against Undeposited Funds, but that doesn't work thru online banking.

Using Undeposited Funds is the only way to make multiple transactions appear on a single deposit. Just make the deposits match however you did them in real life. If you don't use UDF, every payment (etc) that you receive is deposited immediately as a single item.
