nonprofit contribution error!

Postby bergeron on Wed Jul 02, 2008 1:05 pm

i use quickbooks premier nonprofit edition 2005. when i go to make an individual contribution to my business (church) it actually subtracts it from my total assets when i view the detailed report. after i make the deposit it adds it back to my balance but it only comes out even and does not make any addition whatsoever. how do i make a contribution and ACTUALLY make a contribution??!!? :x :?:

please help me! i can find nothing in the manual to tell me what i am doing wrong.

I would recommend consulting with an actual accountant on this one...but, off the top of my head, if the "source" bank account and the "target" bank account are both in the SAME company file, it's working the way it's supposed to -- if this is the case, from QB's point of view, all you're doing is transferring funds from one account to another within the same company.
