Quickboods 2008 appears as its going to load then disappears

Having a hard time. I click on the Quickbooks icon it appears as its going to load then disappears. I am having a hard time.

You can thank Microsoft for this one. Here's a QB article on the problem, it's due to a broken Windows update.
