Error 20888 39915

I recently updated Quickbooks 2008 and now I cannot pay my employees. I get an error 20888 39915 and Quickbooks logs out automatically. I cannot repair or reinstall...I get an error 1328 about a patch incompatibility.

Any suggestions?
